Quebecor reports Q4 loss of $962.6 million on loss at Quebecor World

(TSX:QBR.B) said Thursday it lost $962.6 million in its fourth quarter, as the company took a $1.88-billion goodwill-impairment charge related to its troubled Quebecor World subsidiary. The Quebec conglomerate said the loss for the quarter amounted to $14.99 per share on for the three months ended Dec. 31. That compared with a loss of $80.8 million of $1.26 per share the last three months of 2006. Revenue in the quarter totalled $2.43 billion, down from $2.67 billion a year ago. Quebecor World is restructuring under court protection from creditors. For the full year, Quebecor reported a loss of $969.2 million or 15.12 per share on $9.38 billion in revenue. That compared with a loss of $93.9 million or $1.46 per share on $9.81 billion in revenue in 2006. |
